The assistant that looks after everything you run.

Whombat is a small computer in your office with one AI assistant on it. It keeps an eye on your servers, network, mail and services. It fixes what it can and asks you first about anything important. Everything it knows stays on the box.

  • Runs on hardware you own
  • Uses your own Claude or ChatGPT
  • Web, Android and iPhone

Morning. Anything I should know?

Morning! Quiet night, two things:

  • Backups of all 6 servers finished
  • nas-01 will be full in about 9 days
Dusty needs your OK Clear 41 old snapshots on nas-01

Frees about 380 GB. The last 14 days stay.

Meet your assistant

One assistant.
You pick the face.

Every Whombat comes with exactly one assistant. Call it Dusty or give it a name of your own. The face you pick decides how it talks.

  • Dusty Default

Plain and friendly. Everyday words, no jargon.

  • Banjo

Technical. Talks like an engineer, with exact terms and numbers.

  • Neo

Calm and a little mysterious, with the odd line from The Matrix.

  • Skipper

An upbeat captain. Decisive, with a touch of sailing talk.

  • Hazel

Warm and organised. Keeps track of the loose ends.

What it does

Your servers, your network,
your mail. Looked after.

Tell it what you have, or let it scan your network. It watches, explains what it finds in plain words and suggests one plan you can approve.

Looks after your servers

A one-line install puts a small agent on each server. It opens no ports. Whombat watches health, disks, updates and workloads on Proxmox VE, Incus, Docker, libvirt and Unraid, and opens VM consoles and shells in your browser.

Automations, just by asking

Describe what you want. Dusty writes it up as a plan card. Check it and turn it on.

Remembers, and learns

Its memory is a plain page you can read and edit. It picks up new skills as it goes. Passwords go in a Vault: the assistant can use them but never read them.

What Dusty remembers Edit

  • Backups of nas-01 go to the USB disk on Sundays.
  • Don't restart Plex during movie night (Fri 20:00–23:00).
  • Send a short summary, not a list of alerts.

On your desk, in your pocket

Talk to it. Glance at it. Take it with you.

The box has its own screen: a calm overview with the widgets you choose. You can talk to it as well. Speech is recognised on the box itself, in English and Dutch.

Privacy and security

It lives with you, not with us.

Your assistant, its memory, your mail and your files live on the box in your office. Our servers only pass along messages they can't read.

  • Encrypted end to endEvery phone and laptop has its own key. The relay only forwards encrypted traffic and keeps no database.

  • No standing accessNobody at Whombat can get in. Need help? Switch on remote help for an hour, a day or a week, then switch it off. Every visit is recorded on your box.

  • Backups where you want themTo your NAS, a USB disk, an S3 bucket or a download, all encrypted. Export everything at any time.

  • No trackingNo analytics, crash reports or session replay in the apps. Hide notification previews if you want only “Whombat” on your lock screen.
